Wish canvas

Hello bloggers and a very merry Christmas to you all. I hope you all have a wonderful few days and enjoy your holiday break.
I am ending the year with thoughts of spring with a canvas, a little larger than I have done before but I have enjoyed doing it. I am entering this for the Sunday challenge run by Hels Sheridan for the theme Wish.

I have used card stock from Tonic as the backgound.and stuck down with glue and seal , (not used glue and seal before but it is fab and I know Hels is always recommending it and I know why now)  I then  distressed with  picked raspberry ( always want to say pickled)  on card stock and around canvas. I used a stencil in a few parts with paste and stamped on tissue for the verse, dandelion  and sentiment Make a Wish, and used glue and seal to stick down'  I die cut butterflies from new Couture Creations  3 in one set with butterflies dies, folder, and stamps. The keys are cut from Just rite key collection dies and stamp set. The birdie from a spellbinder die. I added some bits of pearls and crystal from an old bracelet to a piece of chain. I also went over parts and round the edge in black soot and to finish flicked some Golden Mint spray mist on in parts.

It does seem lighter in picture but it has more depth of colour to it actually.  I hope you like it, and before I go Mr H poorly pooch is more or less back to normal thank goodness.
Bye for now x

Sunday 22 December 2013

Hello bloggers and I hope you are all well and ready for the big day. Family  and friends, and of course that includes those furry one's  matter most, so just enjoy what it is you enjoy doing. Talking of furry friends Mr H , poorly pooch is starting to feel a bit less ruff! ruff! and coughing  less now.

So today I am showing you a card I made for my oldest friend, when I say old I mean I have known her 40+ years , a long time and we have been through a lot together.

The card is an 8x8 ,  I used a sheet of  snowflake card from my stash on the backgound and coloured some holly vellum as a border top and bottom. The stamp is a creative expressions one I bought after seeing the lovely Sue Wilson demo it.  I stamped the angel and used double sided sticky sheet, and placed fine glitter on back. I stamped Hark the angels sentiment from same stamp set. I cut Tonic indulgence gothic dies  as a mat for the  angel  and distressed edges with milled lavender. Next I used little pearls and little pearl stars around the angel, made a bow with lavender and topped with a small spellbinder die.
Hope you all have a great weekend, Christmas greetings to you all, and I wish you all a peaceful new Year. X

Update on Poorly Pooch

Well I am still feeling a bit rough but not coughing as much. Still rather snuffly and tired, and I am not liking those great big tablets mum is giving me. I do like all the attention mum is showing me though,as well as all that lovely extra chicken I am getting.  All for now Hx

Poorly Pooch

Oh dear pooch has come down with chest infection/kennel cough ( not that he has ever been in a kennel) . Anyway he started on Sunday poor love and it has been a rough few days for him and me watching him cough and choke. So yesterday morning we were at the vets bright and early for medications.
He slept a bit better last night thank goodness and so did I, so hopefully the tablets will sort him out in a  few days. Gosh how we worry about our little furry friends, but they are  so worth it.  So hopefully we will be okay for crimbo.  All for now x

Rocking horse

  1. . IHello blogers, I seem to be having a bit of fun with my pictures at the moment. Anyway at least you can see it this time even though it could do with better editing. So here we go with what I did:

I blended  antique linen over canvas and added a touch of tumbled glass distress. I die cut the tattered lace pram die, stamped the beautiful rocking horse stamp onto tissue paper, then used glue &seal to place it on canvas. I also stamped sentiment  , die cut the butterfly, and stamped moon and stars from Grahic45 stamps range. I used H2o's  pearl white added water and painted over the canvas to highlight . I finished off by adding ribbon and baby charm. That's it for now and I hope you like it except to say thank you to Gill Edwards who is my no 1 follower,  no relations by the way!  See I am not talking to myself, really.

Hello bloggers I hope you are all well, and getting in the Christmas mood.  Up to now I have not started on the house decorations but I have sorted out some presents.  The weather today has been really nice and pooch and I went for a lovely long walk this afternoon. I really enjoyed it in the autumn sunshine.

I have been rather busy getting ready for a local traders  xmas market  I have been invited to on Saturday  A lot of work but pleased to get the opportunity to display and hopefully sell some things. It all helps towards more crafty stash to play with. Today I was showing  a canvas for baby's first Christmas for a boy, however, the pictures I've taken are far to dark to show you. So I will have another go and hopefully I will get in on the blog soon.

Sunday 10 November 2013

Hello bloggers and I hope you are all well, it certainly is a lot colder and wetter the last few days. Christmas seems to be creeping up and will soon be upon us. Time just goes quicker or is it because I am getting older faster.  I know my aching body might agree!!!
Today I have made a Christmas card using 8x8 card. I printed onto glosscard an image from Joanna Sheen by Josephine Wall CD. The images are wonderful as the more you look the more you see all the different things going on in the background. They are really quite mystical.  For the front of the card I have used a piece of card  and made appetures to fit different images, a piece of acetate, and made it into a shaker card with some fine glitter and white flower soft.

I stamped some snowflakes and covered with white embossing powder.  I made a tag and stamped a sentiment out, and tied a red ribbon bow. I also added a holly leave from my garden and added some red berry cosmic shimmer glue. Hope you like it x

Wednesday 23 October 2013

Hello Bloggers I hope all is well in your world.
Rather wet, dark. and rainy today I'm afraid, and I think we have more days like this to come. I know my pooch hates the rain and cannot stand his paws to be wet.

Today I have started on a christmas theme. I have altered a canvas firstly by using brushed corduroy distress ink and a touch of gold mica powder. I have added a pine cone, leaves and small pearls along the side and added string and bow. Next I have covered 4 mount board pieces with flitter glue and used gilding flakes over the top. I stamped out the letters NOEL onto heavy cardstock, and then put into the meltpot, I do love my meltpot, it is fab. I hope you like it and I am using this for the lovely Hels Sheridan's Sunday challenge Winter. Take care.x

You hold the key to my heart

Hello  and welcome. I have made a canvas and hope you like it.
I started by covering in white gesso, then used a couple of masks  with distress inks.  I added some white modelling paste and  mixed it with h20's in purple. I used a mask to add some texture . I used some Mr Huey sprays to add more colour.
Using a stamp from Tim H I stamped the verse out on tissue paper covering  the reverse with white acylic and stuck down with a pva. The heart was a die cut and sprayed with various paints, and I used a black piece of melt art on top. I distressed a couple of wooden embellishments sticking down with a
leaf underneath  To finish off I used a butterfly on a chrome chain and added a key and lock to finish.
I am using this for Hels Sheridan Sunday challenge of keys.
Take care x

Please do not disturb

Hello and welcome to you all. I hope you are all well and enjoying this spell of beautiful weather. I thought I would share a picture of my beautiful boy with you today. I had just stripped the bed off and who should decide he needs a sleep. He looked so comfortable I didn't have the heart to wake him up. What a little star. Take care til next time x

Rock and Roll

Hello and welcome to my blog. Time seems to be running away so fast lately, one minute it's Monday and you turn around and here comes the weekend again. I have added a  Wall Hanging this time to show you , just thought it would be a bit different and suitable for a man or teenager. Sorry this picture does not seem as clear as I thought it was.

I started with a chipboard rectangle, covered it with white gesso, and printed a design from a cd onto card. I then made another copy of the guitar , cut it out and used the melt pot, and  added over the original. I used a small canvas, covered it with a piece of music card  and used black soot distressing ink to age it. I also used glossy accents sepia over the top of canvas to age it. I used tumbled glass and black soot over main picture and added canvas using a glue gun.
I am entering this into the weekly challenge on the lovely Hels Sheridan blog
Thanks for looking.

Butterfly Wishes

Hello and I hope you are all well.
crafty friends. The weather has changed so much over the last few days and cooler days and nights are here. Would prefer it a bit warmer myself, even though autumn can be so beautiful.

The card I am sharing with you hopefully hangs on to the beautiful butterfly a bit longer.  The verse is a well known Irish Blessing and would suit many occasions.I hope you like it and it brings a little sunshine to you.

Friends

Hello and welcome to my little crafty world. I did intend to try and blog every week, however,  I was rather busy last week getting ready for a craft fair. Unfortunately it was cancelled the day before so very disappointing . Anyway onwards and upwards so they say, and I now have a number of things to share. This card is about friends and people who touch our lives.

I have used an 8x8 card and matted on a base card from Graphic 45 , great card stock and designs, I used spellbinders radiant  rectangles and die cut a base and two frames. I stamped image from Creative Expressions stamps, embossed in white, and matted on. I used Hunkydory acetate , pearls around edges, and a beautiful butterfly to finish.
I hope you like it.
